I’ve always believed that travel is about more than just seeing new places—it’s about connecting with people and cultures. This trip to Singapore, guided by Althea, reinforced that belief in the most beautiful way.
Our journey began in Chinatown, where we explored bustling markets and tasted traditional snacks. Althea explained the symbolism behind the architecture and decorations, giving me a deeper appreciation for the district’s vibrant culture.
Next, we visited Little India, where the streets were alive with color and music. We stopped at a flower garland shop, and Althea taught me about the significance of these offerings in Hindu rituals. The highlight, however, was joining a local family for a home-cooked meal. Sitting at their table, sharing stories and laughter, I felt a profound connection to their warmth and generosity.
