Exploring Nature’s Serenity

Exploring Nature’s Serenity

By Eliza R., London
Singapore is often thought of as a concrete jungle, but my experience with Althea revealed a side of the city I never knew existed. As a nature lover, I was thrilled to explore the wetlands, forests, and parks that form Singapore’s green heart.

Our journey began at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, where Althea introduced me to the National Orchid Garden. Walking among vibrant blooms and learning about the intricate process of orchid hybridization was enchanting. Later, we ventured to Pulau Ubin, a small island that felt worlds away from the city’s skyscrapers. Cycling through the rustic villages and exploring the Chek Jawa wetlands, I felt completely at peace.

Althea’s deep knowledge of Singapore’s ecosystems and her enthusiasm for conservation were infectious. She pointed out otters at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, explaining how these creatures have adapted to life in the city. By the end of the tour, I was amazed by how much Singapore values its natural heritage.
